Database Search

You are in the database section of the website.

Select a record category from RECORDS above. When you have selected a category, you will see search options for that category above the record list.

Most fields require at least three characters. When you submit your query, the search engine will return all records that contain your search term.

Note that when searching for an aircraft serial number, you must enter the full serial number without the leading "4" and without a dash in the Aircraft SN search field. For example, you would enter 42-37772 as 237772.

The Personnel name field searches both last and first names, so if you enter the search term, "Russ", the search engine will return both Russell Abel and James Russell.

You narrow the search by entering more characters into the search field. For example, "Russ" returns many hits. "Russell" returns fewer hits. The same principle applies to all queries.

The POW and KIA categories are list only and are not searchable.

COMMENTS & NOTES

MEMO 1:

Hello Mike,
Our friends at the Norfolk and suffolk aviation museum, have been researching marriage records at local church's.
They found at the Roman Catholic church at Bungay, a record for Patrick Edward White and Joyce Weston, married September 9th 1944.
Patrick was in the 100BG, and Joyce was a WAAF, RAF.
His occupation is listed as electrical welder, there is a PC White listed in the 456th Sub Depot, instrument shop?
Carol thought she would check out Ancestry, and bingo has made contact with a relation of Joyce's who has been researching there family history, a niece.
The family are trying to find out if there is anything on Patrick's WW 2 service and will share any info with us.
They tell us that after the wedding, Patrick went back to duties on base.
At the end of hostilities Patrick went home, Joyce followed some time afterwards on a brides ship.
They have shared some family shots, which include some of TA.
Carol is going to forward these to you, separately.
No need for me to add any more at present, I will await your comments on what you see.
Regards
Ron.
