HE WAS TRANSFERRED TO B-24 GROUP AND HAD HIS OWN CREW. ORGANIZATION: 8TH AIR FORCE VIII COMMAND 14TH WING 392ND BOMBARDMENT (H) GROUP 578TH BOMB SQ (H) SQUADRON 118 STATION MISSING IN ACTION *NOVEMBER 19, 1943*

350TH SQDN. ACCORDING TO "THEY NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD" PAGE 75; MENZIE JOINED THE 100TH AS A REPLACEMENT PILOT WITHOUT A CREW IN JULY 1943. THIS, IN ITS SELF, IS UNUSUAL. SAME SOURCE, "THEY NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD" PAGE 81; DESCRIBING ACTION ABOARD A B-17 FLOWN ON THE 17 AUG 43 REGENSBURG MISSION SAYS, "BULLETS WERE EVERYWHERE, SOME PASSED CLOSE TO LT MENZIE'S POSITION WHERE HE STOOPED, FIRING WITHOUT PAUSE."

HE WAS ON THE SCOTT/ CLEVEN AIRCRAFT FOR THE REGENSBURG MISSION BUT CANNOT CONFIRM 100%.

On 7/10/43 Special Orders #21 (Hdq. 3rd Bomber Division) the following crew was transferred from the 100th Bomb. Gp To the 482nd Bomb.Gp for Pathfinder training. Crew departed Thorpe Abbotts on 10/10/43 for Alconbury to join the 482 Bomb Group (Pathfinders)
