From left: Harold H. Krinke, the
100th's "Mister Everything Officer," and Jerry Scharding, Commander
of the 1141st Quartermaster Company. Krinke is famous for his
success in making stills that produced "drinkable" booze. One of
which exploded with considerable fanfare. It is believed that
Scharding was a close associate of Krinke in some of his antics.
Together they brightened life at Thorpe Abbotts and are remembered
fondly at the 100th reunions. (100th Photo Archives) |
