Krinke is famous for his success in making stills that produced "drinkable" booze. One of which exploded with considerable fanfare. It is believed that Scharding was a close associate of Krinke in some of his antics. Together they brightened life at Thorpe Abbotts and are remembered fondly at the 100th reunions.
