"Radio Room; Radar on starboard side;
In Africa for (3 months); High altitude photographing of Liberia for
mapping for U.S. Govt.; We went out in 3 ship elements - spaced 3.1
miles apart by radar at 20,000 feet. Each shot took in 7 sq. miles
and the detail was fantastic." (Crewmember is Sgt. Luther P.
Bridgeman - ROG) Detailed

"Loading up at Hershing Field,
Austria. Hauling French PW's fresh out of concentration camps - from
Austria back to Paris - then on to base in Diss, England (100th Bomb
Group). Long haul - up at 3 AM and off before dawn - just like on
Combat Missions. Carried about 40 PW's and skeleton crew of 5 per
trip. Most gratifying missions. Frenchmen most appreciative. We are
(in) 226."

"The Goose" Ground Crew: "My men
and engine work. They have a great crew. They helped with engine
changes , etc. and kept the ship cleaned up and neat as a pin. Note
top turret... It weighed 1,200 pounds and operated with a most
delicate touch on the gunner's controls."
