"Radio Room; Radar on starboard side; In Africa for (3 months); High altitude photographing of Liberia for mapping for U.S. Govt.; We went out in 3 ship elements - spaced 3.1 miles apart by radar at 20,000 feet. "Loading up at Hershing Field, Austria. Hauling French PW's fresh out of concentration camps - from Austria back to Paris - then on to base in Diss, England (100th Bomb Group). Long haul - up at 3 AM and off before dawn - just like on Combat Missions. Carried about 40 PW's and skeleton crew of 5 per trip. Most gratifying missions. Frenchmen most appreciative. "The Goose" Ground Crew:  "My men and engine work. They have a great crew. They helped with engine changes , etc. and kept the ship cleaned up and neat as a pin. Note top turret... It weighed 1,200 pounds and operated with a most delicate touch on the gunner's controls."  Detailed Information
